Training Program

Hey guys, last year it was mentioned that we should create some type of structured training program, instead of the informal way we train new pilots now.  As was talked about before we could look into some of our Friends of Flight clubs and see what they have come up with and then adopting something of our own, requiring completing a set amount of goals before a new pilot can fly on their own.  I am posting this to get your opinion if this is something the club still wants to do.  I believe that with a training program inplace and the tasks completed it will be a safer and less costly for the new pilot as well.  Please post your comments and let me know what you all think.

Re: Training Program

I have a training program that has been tested and proven effective.  It has been used at numerous clubs throughout the US and can be easily edited to fit specific needs of individual clubs.  If you go here you can download/copy the content and see what you think.  It also has a LOT of info for the first time PILOT as well as INSTRUCTOR.

Go here: http://newportnewsrc.org/

then move the MOUSE OVER  "Flying" and a pull down window will appear

Then click on "Flight Training Program"

No, it's just a lot of info.  the training is at the bottom.  If we want to limit liability and increase safety then this is just the type of pilot training we need.

Re: Training Program

Well, alot of info is what, I meant to say.  I didn't even read any of it yet.  I am going to bring it up at the meeting and see how many people are interested in creating a structured training program, before I start customizing it to fit our club.  We will need to appoint a committee on it and go from there.  But thanks for the info.  I agree that we need  a better training system as the one we have currently is MIA.
